Birth – 23rd January 1891, Rallapalli, a village in Ananthapur District of Andhra Pradesh.

He has authored a champukavya, a khandakavya and a collection of poems Srimahisura-raajyaadarshah(1925). Bhaargavipanchavimashti(1926) and Ananthabharathi(1927) are his other works.
Translations: He translated Kālidāsa’s Raghuvamsha and Bhāsa’s Svapnavāsavadattam.
His poems in Kannada include Tārādevī (1911), Mīrābāī (1913), Samīpūje and a novel – Līlāvatī, and works on criticism entitled as Gānakale (1952), Sāhitya mattu Jivanakale (1954). He has also translated some works from Kannada into Sanskrit.

Sharma is the recipient of many titles like Ganakalasindhu’ (Mysore Music Session, 1961), Ganakalaprapurna (Andhra Pradesh Sangeet Natak Academy), Sangitakalaratna (Bangalore Gayana Samaj, 1973), Honorary D.Litt. of Sri Venkateshwara University and Asthana Vidvan of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam.
