Yoga is one of the oldest holistic systems of self-development originating from ancient Indian civilization. Maharishi Patanjali systematized this wisdom through the Patanjala Yoga Sutras, forming the foundation of Ashtanga Yoga.
The Department of Yoga Therapy & Counselling at Karnataka Samskrit University was established in 2022. The department focuses on integrating traditional Yogic wisdom with modern scientific approaches to healthcare, counselling, and wellness.
The department offers programs ranging from certificate courses to M.Sc and Ph.D studies in Yoga Therapy and Counselling.
The department combines Guru-Shishya tradition with modern ICT-enabled learning and practical exposure through workshops, seminars, and interdisciplinary healthcare training.
